Meet Lou Lou Blue — a 1974 Brazilian 15 window Kombi Type 2. Synonymous with California beach culture, the Volkswagen bus quickly became an icon of the times.
Brazil was the last factory in the world to produce the T2 between the years 1967-1979. Production of all Volkswagon buses ceased in December 2013, marking the end of an era for the icon. The VW Bus has since become an international symbol of love and wanderlust.
Lou Lou Blue was imported straight from Brazil and fully designed by Jaunt founder, Ashlie Johnson.
Originally from the East Coast, Ashlie Johnson always felt a magnetic pull to the beauty of the West Coast — sunny skies, beaches and the blooming fashion industry.
After moving to Los Angeles in 2003, she booked her first job for V Magazine on a cover shoot with Kate Moss and David Simms. Since then, her work has been featured in the top fashion magazines from InStyle and Allure to Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, with an extensive list of devoted clients, including actresses and models such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Jessica Alba, Eva Mendes, Kate Hudson, Rosie Huntington-Whitley and the legendary Sophia Loren to name a few.
Her experience, expertise, and ability for predicting trends has made her Chanel’s Official Celebrity Manicurist since 2013.
Ashlie’s versatile work has made her a sought-after manicurist on major fashion shoots, leading to successful collaborations with photographers Peter Lindbergh, Annie Leibovitz, Steven Meisel, Inez & Vinoodh, and more.
